Is there any reason why someone wouldn’t want purple hydrangeas year round?
Yes, if you are Madonna.
I rest my case.

Earlier this week we mentioned the Charleston Library Society’s “Great Expectations” event. It was last night and it was breathtaking. Each table represented a literary classic. We chose Doctor Zhivago.
’ Glitter, wealth, and fur – yet cold and empty and hollow. Poets can be physicians and still be lost. Educated and wealthy is no substitute for love. Our table is symbolic of Dr. Zhivago’s life’s journey. We hope he would find at our table good friends and food, a glass of red wine and perhaps “the love.” ‘
I think our table was spectacular. A big thanks goes out to Kelly and Nicholas.

Holiday parties are around the corner. I love taking wine but, in the past, I’ve had trouble finding a cute tag to tie on the bottle. Thanks to Tara Guerard and her letterpress studio, Lettered Olive, I now have one. The surcie tags come 6 to a tin and have the most chic designs. You can pick up a set for yourself or a friend at ESD. Don’t wait too long!

The Charleston Library Society asked us to be a part of their Great Expectations event this Thursday. ESD and others will design a table setting inspired by literary classics. This wonderful event benefits Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach Center. Tickets are still available. Come for wine and hors d’ oeuvres and see the beautiful creations!

We were thrilled when Garden&Gun asked if they could use one of our tables for their October/November food issue. All of the scrumptious side dishes were photographed on our vintage farm table. We love to find pieces like this with a story. A New England family ate breakfast at this folding table every morning for years.
