I just got a call and all he said was “Where the hell are ya?” and he said it with such demand that I responded with “Who the hell IS this?”  He’s Brother Moses, aka one of my favorite friends in the Bahamas.  He asked me what I was doing and I told him I was in the middle of an interview.  I asked him what he was doing and he said putting Miracle Grow in his garden.

He wins.

He and his wife, aka Magoo, have the prettiest garden.  That is what everybody should be doing Tuesday at 1pm.  Moses and Magoo, I wish I was there at 5:oo to have a cold Kalik and compliment you on a job well done.

OK…dude…There are a few things that should not be done at Nippers and working on your laptop,drinking a beer with that view? Close your laptop and relax a little….you’re in the Bahamas, mon.

One of my most favorite places in the world is a deserted island in the Abacos called shell island. I don’t think that is its real name but that is what I call it.  It is covered with shells and depending on the weather, the tides, and the other people who have come to it, you can find real treasures. The greatest is silence and solitude.  I go there to think.  My family drops me off and I walk and slowly collect my treasures. Once it was a baby conch.  Once a large piece of drift wood.  One year I selected small pieces of coral that looked like discs in your back…That year I needed a backbone and that is what I brought home.  All the coral pieces sit on my garden wall to remind me that treasures are not always expected…sometimes they come unexpectedly…like a backbone…who knew?

If you haven’t been to Nippers then you are missing something sooo fun. Have a nipper drink for me but know ahead of time after two you are you on your own!

My daughter has become the new manicurist of our trip. Here is the orange example but I highly recommend the red with white dots…it makes you look like you have strawberries on your hands. Summer is for not taking yourself too seriously!

At my house down here I have found that a half of an orange will bring in the birds. I haven’t tried this back home but I’d bet it would work. Pretty,though, no matter what.

Who needs the red,red rose?

We went to lunch at Pete’s and a storm blew up.  There was a chorus of “should I stay or should I go now…” We shot the gap and all was well.
