Plantation dreams

I have been invited to an old family plantation for the Easter holiday weekend.  This is a family I love and I am looking forward to it.  Deep in the ACE basin, where a nature lover can dream, I look forward to calming my mind with photos and the hope of spotting an eagle.

Ya know, some people have a thing for baskets. I know this because my customers always ask me for unusual baskets and it always seems that when I buy a ton at market or in a field, I am SURE that I have over bought. The joke is on me. When I saw these baskets, [...]

Thank you Courtney, of the wonderful blog Style Court , for writing a fabulous piece on Muffie and her art collection!  I look forward to Part II.   I love Courtney’s style and how she incorporates interviews with designers.  Make sure you check it out.  This is a blog you don’t want to miss!

Clogged snorkel?

We were snorkeling and my daughter came up and said that she couldn’t breathe with her snorkel. When we took it back in the boat to switch to another one look what was clogging it!!!! No lie! We put it in the bucket to observe it then returned it to the sea! Pretty cool huh?

Bird eggs

A friend of mine that lives in the Bahamas has the most amazing garden! She is a master gardener and a great cook and she has her own chickens that lay these beautiful eggs! She came by and brought me some when I was there and I had to take a photo. The soft colors [...]

The best hues of brown

I just got back from the Bahamas and it was lobster season. My children speared lobsters (I don’t like to kill anything) and look at these shots of the lobsters! Every color of the brown paint wheel is here. The texture and colors are amazing and I have to say they weren’t all that bad [...]

Charleston designer Angie Hranowsky was just featured in the Spring 2009 issue of Charleston Home.  I love her style and love it even more that she lives in my neighborhood!  Thanks for mentioning ESD as one of your favorite sources!

Great gift idea

Don’t you love these fabulous glasses!  Jane Pope Cooper  mentioned them as one of her favorites along with letterpress stationary from Sideshow Press in the March issue of Charleston Magazine.  I love that they say “Souvenir de la Fete” which means “Remember the Party” in French.  I don’t think you can ever have too many glasses.

A little help from my friends

There are many faces that make up ESD and my team is the bomb!  I have asked them to also share their thoughts here on my blog and I hope you will enjoy their creativity and thoughts as much as I do!  Go team!
