Music we love

One of my favorite albums that we play in the store is an incredible album from 2006: Lunatico by Gotan Project.  I’ve been obsessed for a while and I am now starting to hear it out and about.  They’re a Paris-based music trio w/a distinctive Argentenian vibe.  Great for cocktails with friends or listening alone…

You have to kiss some frogs…

This cutie is perfect in a garden but he is also perfect to put your rings on at night.  I gave this to a friend of mine who taught me the meaning of frog.  Fully rely on God.  Now when I see a frog I think of that and smile.

Nature’s paint wheel

You know…Every color we really need is in nature.  This is a theme I will say again and again.  When you want to pick a paint color just walk outside.  It’s all there…Just pick out the hue you like and then get out the paint wheel.  I see cranberry red velvet on antique carved chairs [...]

On the rocks

I have to tell you that having a drink in these brightly colored glasses is so much fun.  They feel like something from a poolside in the 60’s.  Of course I am not that old…

Some of my favorite photos

It is an absolutely beautiful weekend here in Charleston.  I am outside enjoying my garden and just being.  Below are some of my favorite photos from the Bahamas.  I hope you enjoy!

Fabrics we are loving

We are all so excited about the fabric line fashion designer Trina Turk has created for Schumacher.  The colors and patterns are amazing.  She says her inspiration came from the poolside lifestyle of Los Angeles and Palm Springs.  Some of our favorites are below.

Thank you to Elle Decor for the mention of ESD in the May issue.  I love your magazine and I was honored to be in it in any way.  Glad you commented on Middleton gardens.  It is the best garden in Charleston, in my opinion, and when I think about the effort and energy that [...]

The stone guy-Earth Day 2009

Do you think the stone guy thinks about going green?  Nah…he probably had a hard heart or maybe even a heart of stone.  At Earth Fare tonight I felt the same way.  Man I’ve got to get it together and start bringing my own bag.  Who knew that bagging even with paper would make you [...]

…Make lemonade!

When you can’t have lemons hanging from the trees it’s good to have a chandelier with lemons! How cute would this be in a pantry or a mud room?  It reminded me of Amalfi.
